Kamil Majchrzak champion of the Alicante Ferrero Challenger

The Polish, who trained at Ferrero Tennis Academy in his youth, is proclaimed champion against Nicolas Moreno.

The Professional Tournament organized by the Tennis Academy Juan Carlos Ferrero comes to an end. The final confronted the American with Spanish nationality Nicolás Moreno de Alborán, and the Polish Kamil Majchrzak. The 147th and 145th ATP players competed to win the title, the prizes and above all the 100 points that would put the winner on the doorstep of the Top 100 of the world ranking.

The match started with good exchanges by both players. The serve was being key in the first set and both players managed to keep it without much trouble. It was in the tenth game where the first break opportunity appeared, coinciding also that it was a set ball. The Polish took advantage of it and went ahead on the scoreboard. The second set also started evenly matched but Kamil looked more confident than Nicolas, especially in the return. Although Nicolas had a 76% of first serves, Kamil managed to subtract him with solvency and close the match in two sets: 6/4 6/2.

Kamil becomes the fifth champion of the Alicante Ferrero Challenger and returns near to the Top 100 ATP (114). The award ceremony was attended by Paco Vicent, President of the Tennis Federation of the Valencian Community; Maite Gandia, Councilor for Sports of the City of Villena; and the founder of the Academy Antonio Martinez Cascales, who recalled in an emotional way the year of training that Kamil spent in the Academy itself that today saw him rise as Champion.

The Ferrero Tennis Academy event is once again an organizational success and would not be possible without the support of Postres Reina, Isdin, Mapfre, RFET, Generalitat Valenciana, Diputación de Alicante, Snacks El Valle, OVB All Finanz and Head.
