Landaluce to face Majchrzak for a place in the final of the Ferrero Challenger
The American of Spanish descent, Nicolas Moreno, will contest the other semifinal against the Swiss Jerome Kym.
The semifinals of the Alicante Ferrero Challenger are already known. Martin Landaluce got rid of another of the favorites: the current ATP 150 Hugo Grenier. Grenier had twice reached the final of this tournament and reached the semifinals without dropping a single set. Martin, with the added motivation of having come from behind the day before against the number 3 seed, was not intimidated and showed a high level throughout the match. Decisive was the support of the crowd, which helped him to lift a 5/2 and serve against in the tiebreak of the first set. With the set ahead and his confidence sky high, the Spaniard did not lose his nerve and managed to overcome the high level of the Frenchman. Landaluce is the first Spaniard since Carlos Alcaraz in 2020 to reach the semifinals of the tournament. Carlitos managed to win the title, and Martin allows us to dream of repeating the feat.
Like Grenier, the two-time champion of the tournament, Constant Lestienne, lost in this round. He lost to American Nicolas Moreno de Alboran, who represented Spain as a junior. Moreno will face Swiss Jerome Kym, who has been showing a very high level throughout the tournament. He reached the quarterfinals without dropping hardly any games and in the quarterfinals, he has beaten the promising young German Justin Engel, in a match tighter than the previous ones: 6/2 7/6(5). The Moreno vs. Kym match can be followed tomorrow live from 12.00 on Eurosport.

The fourth semifinalist will be Poland's Kamil Majchrzak. Kamil defeated the first seed of the tournament and number 108 of the ATP Duje Ajdukovic after coming back from an adverse first set. Kamil pulled epic and managed to turn the scoreboard around taking advantage of the few break balls he had, and especially saving the opportunities for his opponent to break his serve. Ajdukovic only managed to break in the first set despite the 10 break balls he had: 5/6 6/3 6/2 for the Pole, who will face the young Spaniard, Landaluce, in the match that will also be broadcast on Eurosport, not before 14.00.
Following the singles semifinals will be the doubles final, which also has Spanish representation: Iñigo Cervantes with his partner Romain Arneodo, will face the Indian duo formed by Chandrasekar and Kaliyanda who already proclaimed doubles champion last year.
The Alicante Ferrero Challenger is once again an organizational success and closed the day with a live concert. The tournament would not be possible without the support of Postres Reina, Isdin, Mapfre, RFET, Generalitat Valenciana, Diputación de Alicante, Snacks El Valle, OVB All Finanz and Head.
