QUIQUE CARRASCOSA WINS THE HAMMAMET J200 WITH AUTHORITY
Quique Carrascosa continues to make steady progress in his growth as a tennis player. The Ferrero Tennis Academy player was crowned champion of the J200 Hammamet (Tunisia) after completing a very solid tournament, showing personality, consistency, and a high competitive level from start to finish.
He made his debut with a resounding victory over WC Mohamed Malek Soussla, whom he defeated by a clear 6/0 and 6/2setting the pace from the very first point. In the next round, he added another victory by defeating the third seed, Amaury Abbas, in a very serious match that he won 6/3 and 6/3, showing maturity at key moments.
In the quarterfinals, the match against Ali Missoum was affected by his opponent's withdrawal at the start of the second set, and in the semifinals, Quique once again put in a very reliable performance, comfortably winning his match 6-2 and 6-1.
The outcome of the tournament for the Ferrero Tennis Academy could not have been more positive. In addition to Quique Carrascosa's victory, Kiko Fontes also had a great performance, reaching the semifinals and defeating all his opponents with ease.
Fontes' opponent, Antonio Marigliano, prevented a final between the two Ferrero Tennis Academy players by defeating the Brazilian.
The last match was the most demanding for Quique. The Spaniard took the first set 6/2, although the second was much more evenly matched. He managed to handle the pressure in the tiebreak to close out the match 7/6. With this victory, Carrascosa has made it into the top 100 juniors.
