Spanish derby: Carreño and Landaluce will battle it out for a place in the semifinals

The excitement continues at the JC Ferrero Tennis Academy. The Alicante Ferrero Challenger has reached its climax after an intense fifth day in which the quarterfinals were decided. Three Spanish names are still dreaming of the title: Pablo Carreño, Martín Landaluce and Daniel Mérida.

Veteran Carreño, a former world top 10 player with plenty of experience in this type of event, will face Martín Landaluce, one of the great promises of Spanish tennis, in the quarterfinals. It will be a generational clash, where the maturity of the Asturian will collide with the freshness of the young Madrilenian. A duel that promises to be one of the great moments of the tournament.

For his part, Daniel Mérida continues to consolidate his good form and will face Britain's George Loffhagen.

Among the international names that shone on Thursday was the young Czech Petr Brunclik, who scored a resounding victory over Austria's Neil Oberleitner. Brunclik, who has been showing an upward trend since the start of the tournament in the preliminary phase, will now face Italy's Luca Potenza in what promises to be a turning point for him.

The last quarterfinal match will feature Hugo Grenier, one of the favorites, and German Tom Gentzsch, who has become one of the big surprises, demonstrating his great talent in the best tournament he has played so far.

With the quarterfinals now set, the Alicante Ferrero Challenger enters its decisive phase. The crowd, which has responded enthusiastically throughout the week, will be key in this final stretch: their energy and support have become a fundamental driving force for the players, especially for the Spanish representatives. The JC Ferrero Tennis Academy is ready for another unforgettable day of pure tennis.
